iSTAR Medical SA
iSTAR Medical is a Healionics’ spinout company (now completely independent) formed in 2010 to commercialize an innovative glaucoma treatment device based on STAR biomaterial. Since receiving CE mark in 2012, iSTAR has obtained three rounds of venture funding and their device has been implanted in over 5,000 patients. Healionics maintains a minority equity stake in the company and receives a royalty on their sales.
